About Kyabaatay
A kinder place to share what you love.
What’s the talk?
That is what the name means. Kya baat hai is what you say when a friend shows you something worth showing: a photo from the morning, a line that stuck, a small thing made well. Kyabaatay is a place for exactly that, and for the people you want to hear it from.
You write a post, with or without photos and video. Anyone can read it. People you follow show up in your feed, and people who follow you see yours. Tags gather posts about the same thing into one place. Likes, comments and follows are the whole vocabulary; there is nothing else to learn.
How it is built
- Reading is open. You do not need an account to read the feed, browse a tag or look at a profile. You need one to post, like, comment or follow, because those are things a person does.
- The feed is not ranked. Your feed is the posts, in a fresh order each time you open it. Nothing is promoted, buried or chosen for you by a model that guesses what will keep you scrolling.
- Ads pay the bills; they do not run the feed. The site shows ads from Google and counts visits with Google Analytics, so it can pay its way. Neither has any say in what your feed shows. The privacy policy says what they collect and how to turn off personalised ads.
- Your profile is yours. Your name, your bio, your links, your photo. Your email, phone number and date of birth are for signing in and for you, and are never shown to anyone else.
Where it is going
Kyabaatay is young. Notifications, messages, bookmarks and a settings page are on the way, which is why their buttons are already in the sidebar: the shape of the place is decided, even where the rooms are still empty. If something you want is missing, tell us; it may be next.
